The first two albums contain photos from early trips in 1969, 1975 and 1984. The early ones were scanned from old photo albums. Some were scanned from Polaroids.
Photos from the second album are scanned from old Kodachrome slides. I do have slightly larger versions; but the colour and contrast as seen here are as good as I can make them.
In those days, the cost of taking slides was an expensive part of my budget. I wish now that I had taken many more photos.
The other albums are from a two-month Round-the-World trip taken in early Year 2000. Many of the photos from that trip have been resized larger from smaller low-resolution formats. All were taken with an Olympus digital camera.
Euro: France UK 1969
Scanned photos from a student trip from Vancouver, BC to England and France in mid summer of 1969. I was in Paris when Neil Armstrong landed on the moon.
Euro: Greece to UK 1975-1984
These were taken in Greece, Italy, France, Belgium, Holland, England and Scotland during my round-the-world trip in 1975.
There are a few more from England and Holland in 1984.
Russia: Siberian Rail 2000
Set of photos taken in the Asian and European parts of Russia -- plus a few taken in northeastern China -- during a trip from Beijing to Moscow in early April 2000.
Russia: Moscow 2000
Photos taken in the Russian capital city of Moscow during my round-the-world trip in the spring of 2000.
Many of them have been resized larger from smaller low-resolution formats. All were taken with an Olympus digital camera.
Russia: St Petersburg 2000
These photos were taken in the Russian city of Saint Petersburg during my round-the-world trip in the spring of 2000.
The highlight here was the great Hermitage and Russian State art museums.
Euro: Scandinavia 2000
These photos were taken in Scandinavian Europe: Finland, Sweden and Denmark.
Euro: Germany 2000
These photos were captured during a few days spent in Germany (mainly Cologne / Koln) during a round-the-world trip in spring of 2000.
Euro: Italy Milan 2000
These are my photos taken in Milan, Italy and area during a round-the-world trip in spring of 2000.
I made a side trip to Milan but only had a few short hours for picture-taking.
Euro: Spain 2000
These are my photos taken in Spain in early 2000. I arrived in Spain by train from southern France. After a day in Barcelona, I took the late night train to Madrid. From there, I travelled to Portugal.
Euro: Portugal 2000
These are my photos taken in Portugal in the spring of 2000. After visiting Lisbon, Sintra and Cascais, I flew to New York City.
